German Pork Hock (Schweinshaxe)

German Pork Hock, also known as roasted ham hock or 'Schweinshaxe', is a traditional Bavarian meal that is enjoyed all year long, not only during Oktoberfest. This simple pork knuckle recipe takes a few hours to prepare, but rewards you with tasty pork crackling and tender meat with little work on your side. I had this dish in Berlin 4 years ago and have been craving to re-create it since then.

It's definitely one of my all-time favourite German dishes.
